About air filter

Air filters are used for cleaning of supply air in ventilation systems, as well as for the purification of contaminated exhaust air, for example, nuclear power plants, laboratories and isolation wards. The need for clean air for industrial processes and high-tech environments has opened up new areas of application for air filters. In general, the dust contents are relatively low .

Apart from activated carbon filters that are used for the separation of gases and odors, the filters are divided into different classes: Coarse dust filters, fine dust filters and high performance filters, fine dust or HEPA filter. This setting is carried out taking into account the different filter materials, the manner and the ability of the filter to deposit particles , and thus indirectly to their areas of application. Furthermore, there are electrostatic filters, which operate according to the electrostatic principle, but who have attained in the ventilation and air conditioning from operational safety and cost reasons, only a comparatively small importance.
